RH Marine has taken on refit projects at all renowned yacht builders and shipyards in the Netherlands and in southern England, France, Spain and Florida in the United States Super yachts are also being overhauled on site in various ports in the Mediterranean, including Barcelona and Cannes.
The refit department of the Dutch company has now become a fully-fledged branch, in addition to the new-build department. “The refit market is growing rapidly,” says global Sales Manager Refits & Service Yachts, Ronald Docters van Leeuwen of RH Marine. “There is a large selection of 25 to 30 year old yachts that are sold to a new owner. These ships are outdated and urgently need to be modernized. A refit is relatively less expensive than having a new yacht build. Moreover, new-build projects often takes four to five years, while a yacht with a refit is spic and span within a year.”
RH Marine has more than fifty years of experience in yacht construction with a large installed base. Besides developing and producing their own Rhodium solutions, they also work as an independent system integrator able to meet the yard and the end user’s wishes by customizing their systems. This includes a new, custom-made Rhodium bridge with all modern equipment ensuring safe and efficient navigation, and RH Marine’s leading alarm, monitoring and control system and power management system. But also the replacement of all lighting by LED, electrical installation and cabling.
RH Marine develops innovative technologies and products for all Dutch naval vessels, which are also deployed in the yacht sector. “The Navy wants the best of the best. Yacht construction benefits from that,” says Docters van Leeuwen.
